Kommetje
Tucked away on the wild Atlantic side of the Cape Peninsula, Kommetjie is a seaside village where life slows down and the ocean takes centre stage. Its name means “little basin” in Afrikaans. Come for the world-class surf breaks, the sweeping sands of Long Beach and the striking Slangkop Lighthouse, and stay for the golden sunsets, fresh sea air and relaxed village charm.
Noordhoek
Noordhoek is a laid-back village on the Cape Peninsula, known above all for its beach: a sweeping 8km stretch of white sand backed by dunes and framed by mountains on both sides, perfect for long walks, horse rides and sunset photos. The famous Chapman’s Peak Drive runs along one edge, offering some of the most spectacular coastal views in the world.Beyond the beach, Noordhoek has a relaxed, semi-rural character, with farm stalls, craft markets, and the popular Noordhoek Farm Village offering local food, wine and shopping. It’s a favourite spot for surfers, hikers and horseback riders, and makes an easy base for exploring nearby Kommetjie, Hout Bay and Cape Point.
