Aerospring hack

Aaaaaand…yet another problem. It seems that many of the hardware chosen by myFood is very low quality. In fact, the Aerosprint tower we used to love so much, is leaking water as the main reservoir has some cracks along the bottom (see picture right).

So, as we were very satisfied with the approach of this bassin, we wanted to replace it with a new one. However, the website of myFood doesn’t offer any items to repair stuff. All you can buy is either the whole tower or the trolly it sits on. Shame on myFood (again) for this…that’s not really sustainable.

After having researched the net and visited many DIY stores, we couldn’t find anything matching the hexagonal container used to retain the water for the tower. So, we had the idea to simply fit in some pond liner, as the container was still fine, but it needed something to make sure that water would stay inside.

So we bought about 3 meters (way to much) of this pond foll (price about 15€) and installed it around the water container. The liner was running around the top of the container so that the cover could pinch it down and give the liner enough stability.

After having installed and cut to measure the liner, the test was positive, and the Aerospring tower is back in business.
